Referral and therapy process

Step 1: Free 30 minute consultation

Contact me to arrange a free consultation to discuss your child's needs and the desired outcomes. I can answer any questions you may have.

Step 2: Referral documentation
I require Strengths and difficulty questionnaire (SDQ) from home and school. Completed and signed referral form and signed permission from parent/carers. I will issue a contract and arrange parent interview.
Step 4: Treatment plan

Treatment plan bespoke to your child's needs will be

created once initial sessions have taken place.

Step 5:  Review of therapy

Review periods are every 6 sessions. I will conduct parent

and professional interviews and obtain SDQ scores.

Parent/professional interviews will take place and further

recommendations made if required.

Step 3: Parent & professional interview

Zoom, phone call or face to face meeting with parents and professionals involved with the child. To obtain background information, birth and developmental history, reasons for referral. We agree on hopes and expectations for the therapy. I may also go into your child's school to observe.

Step 5:  Ending therapy

The ending process is important in play therapy.

I require 2-3 sessions to end therapy ethically.

Ending interviews with parents and professionals will take

place alongside SDQ's. An end report will be provided.
